Early Years Foundation Stage
At Acehall, we understand that a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on his/her future achievements. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework sets the standards for the learning, development and care of children at our school. Our unique and diverse methodologies enable better resilient, confident, independent and self-assured students.
Our program in the Crèche revolves around building relationships between caregivers and babies. Babies in our care learn to build trust through daily interactions with adults that give quality care. Likewise, they build a sense of security and confidence as they communicate their needs and receive prompt and sensitive responses – these interactions build structures in the brain that have long lasting cognitive effects.
Our Nursery students are encouraged and supervised in a tested and safe environment to satisfy their curiosity about how things work as they explore and manipulate special learning materials built to develop their cognitive abilities. There are well-planned and well-resourced activities that enable critical thinking, imagining, problem solving and creativity to enable proper understanding.
Our “Learning through play” concept further breaks down progression in dramatic play, sand play, water play, dough and clay play as well as creative play among others.

There is no picture so beautiful as smiling, bright-eyed, happy children; no music so sweet as their clear and ringing laughter - P. T. Barnum
Within a structured but flexible curriculum, the Early Years Foundation Stage team crafts lesson modules that are accessible to children at different levels in their development.
