Our ICT Initiative
Located on the 2nd floor beside the Year 5 Class, is our new and improved technology hub. Though still under construction, students from all grades have been visiting -- to attend ICT classes, improve their office skills, and spend some time coding.
The ICT program supports and enhances the way we teach writing, reading, listening, arithmetic, science, language, art, and history. We provide students with an array of powerful tools that allow them to focus their energy on problem-solving and higher level thinking skills. Interactive multimedia programs and tools; such as Scratch 2.0 and Khan Academy, have been integrated into classwork and assignments in a constructive way throughout the curriculum to facilitate scholarly and intellectual curiosity.
Access to the internet is directed and supervised with some measure of independence by the Teacher. We take online security very seriously with all children.
All students are expected to have email accounts beginning in Year 3 as part of our Google Classroom Initiative for a token fee, paid annually. Students will be able to send/receive email from their teachers and classmates for group assignments.
